This text was from a response I sent to Elijah about potential workshop dates, but I thought it should have it's own posting in case anyone would like to build on it as it's own thread.

Establishing Rapport is crucial to a successful performance of any nature. Rapport is a very large part of what I'll be teaching.

The term "rapport" is not unfamiliar to us, however, the concept is quite facinating and particularly useful to artists.

The dictionary defines "Rapport" as "a relationship of mutual trust or emotional affinity."

In Neuro-Linguisics, rapport is about understanding and appreciating another human being's model of the world (how they organize reality) and communicating in such a way that trust is established.

Communication occurs when a thought or idea is expressed, received, and confirmed.

As artists, our performance is the media by which we express ourselves artistically.

Without communication, there can be no expression, and without expression, art does not exist.

In the workshop, we will explore the concept of rapport, how it applies to us as artists, and learn ways to consistently create this relationship when we perform.
