Alrighty then. Now that I have a handful of people interested in the workshop, let's talk about the workshop and some potential dates.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS:
Working Title: Acting on the Right Side of the Brain - Neuro-Linguistic Techniques for Actors
Parts I and II
INSTRUCTOR:
Rob Cochran, CHt
MP Neuro-Linguistic Programming
Certified Hypnotherapist & Life Coach
and is the owner of Capitol Hill Hypnosis & Coaching. Rob studied Acting at the
Greer Garson Theatre Center and is
trained as a Hypnotherapist and
Master Practitioner of Neuro-
Linguistic Programming through
Bennett/Stellar University.
DATE/LOCATION
To be Determined (weekend in June or July)
DESCRIPTION:
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the art of modeling the form and sequence of internal states, internal computations, and external behaviors so that any known behavior or ability can be replicated. Neuro-Linguistics, simply put, is the language of the brain.
PART I
This workshop will examine the structure of human behavior and how it applies toward creating and developing a character that is multi-dimensional and realistic to both audience and actor. You will gain a greater understanding of how you can draw upon the resources within yourself to establish rapport with any character you create.
PART II
This second workshop will focus on utilizing NLP
techniques for dealing with issues such as line
memorization, performance anxiety, unblocking
creativity, artistic pliability, audition
preparation, confidence, and career motivation.
I intend for the workshops to be on a Saturday and Sunday in June or July, depending on the availability of you all.
Each workshop will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with an hour for lunch.
The cost for each workshop will be $50 each. Since this is what I do for a living, I prefer not to accept trades, however if you refer a friend, I might be able to workout a deal with you. Based on your profiles, you all seem like interesting people and I'd really like all of you to attend if possible. I will also be promoting this workshop outside of Tribe.net, but I'd like the four of you to be the core.
The workshops will be designed so that you could take them independently and get a lot out of them, but I recommend taking both to get the full benefit of the concepts being presented. However, if you are unable to attend two workshops either because of financial reasons or scheduling issues, don't let that discourage you from taking one or the other on it's own.
So the next step is to agree upon a date. Why don't we start by answering the following: (this is still not a commitment so don't worry, I'll let you know when we approach that level.)
A) What weekends in June are you NOT available?
B) What weekends in July are you NOT available?
C) Would you prefer to have the workshop in June or July?
Thanks again for your interest and participation. I look forward to hearing from you all.
Rob
